It has been a privilege to minister alongside you as a DaySpring member. It will continue to be a privilege to minister as a DaySpring staff member. In the upcoming months, I will learn the DaySpring landscape through the lens of my new role. This landscape includes the mechanics of how things get done (for example, Lamona needs this letter by noon on Wednesday!) Most importantly, though, it includes you. You are DaySpring, and it will be my greatest honor to know you more deeply and hear how God is moving in and through you. Grace and peace to you this week, Amy Shrove (Fat) Tuesday: The youth will sponsor a variety show and auction on Tuesday, February 21 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in the narthex. There will be a pancake supper at 6:00 and the entertainment / auction will begin at 6:30. The proceeds will go towards the Youth Camp/Mission trip to Baton Rouge. Come for the food, entertainment and fun, plus hearing from Cole on what's going on with the youth. DaySpring Women's Retreat: - February 24-26 - Glen Lake Camp & Retreat Center (Glen Rose, TX) - $50 cash or check to DaySpring Baptist Church ~~ write women's retreat on the check memo line - Caravan car pool leaves DaySpring at 5:45 p.m. on February 24 and returns at 1:00ish on Sunday, February 26 ~~ according to MapQuest, it should take about 1.5 hours from DaySpring to Glen Rose. - Dinner Friday night & Sunday lunch are on your own. - Our retreat speaker is Regina Easley-Young. - Last day to sign up and turn in money is February 12. - There are limited spots. Just print, enter the vendor name and items to be purchased. Every store has their own method to process tax-exempt sales (ask before you shop) but this form is all they should need. Thank you. Worship Sunday worship services are held in the sanctuary and chapel each week this spring at 11:00 a.m. Everyone is invited to worship in the chapel on a given Sunday and as often as you desire, limited by the number of seats that are available in the chapel. Each week, two-to-three Formation classes and Life Together Groups will be scheduled to attend the service, but everyone is welcome to attend whichever service you wish. For the chapel, each week worship guides will be available on a table outside the door to the chapel. If you wish to attend the chapel service, please pick up a worship guide. As long as worship guides remain, there are seats available in the chapel. SAVE THE DATE! DaySpring will hold its annual silent retreat on Saturday, March 3 from 9:00 a.m.--3:00 p.m. More information about the retreat, including cost and registration, will be forthcoming. Formation At 9:45 am on Sunday: -- Chapel: The Christian Studies class will be studying and discussing two vital Christian practices: prayer and hospitality and the interplay between the two. Mike Beaty coordinates. Everyone is most welcome. -- Sanctuary: Tim Martindale facilitates an interactive, reflective, anecdotal exploration of Philippians this spring. A wide variety come regularly, but anyone can step in any week and contribute and benefit. Missions Open Table: Brenda, our sister at DaySpring's Open Table, would like to buy a car before June. Her ideal car would be a mid-size or standard-size, 4-door sedan with air conditioning that is less than 10 years old or has less than 130,000 miles and gets at least 20 mpg. Her budget is around $2,000. Brenda is also moving to another apartment in town at the end of March and is looking for a couch, a toddler or twin-size bed (with a side railing if possible), and a chest of drawers (upright preferred).
