Our Cleaning Team has been an integral part of the work of the people since our beginning at the Seventh Day Adventist location. DaySpringers willingly take the time to tend and care for our buildings and create a clean, hospitable environment to learn about and worship God.

Cleaning Zones & Details

Cleaning Zone 1: Sanctuary Building A: Hymnals, Furniture & Kitchen
Closest cleaning closet: between bathrooms in the Narthex
Sanctuary
Clean the sanctuary of debris and trash on and under the chairs
Put all old worship guides & papers into the recycle bin
Place items in lost and found (or trash as appropriate)
Arrange hymnals all facing the same way, on every other chair, at least
Align/Tidy chairs
Put offering plates under chairs (1st row and dotted row)
Kitchen
Tidy the kitchen
Put away clean dishes that may be in the drying rack and dishwasher
Wash and dry and store any dirty dishes
Empty trash cans and recycling*; replace liners 33-gallon bags, under the sink
Check dish soap and hand soap supply (above sinks)

Always check the kitchen for any food that’s left out

Cleaning Zone 2: Sanctuary Building B: Floors, Cobwebs, & Windows
Closest cleaning closet: between bathrooms in the Narthex
Sanctuary
Do a cobweb run around the Sanctuary in corners, doorways, etc.
Feather dust hymn racks under the seats for cobwebs
Dust the wooden platform area with the special mop and cleaner
The sun shines through the windows during the service and shows everything.
The special mop and cleaner is labeled with an orange label to use for the new floor on the platform. There is a spray bottle and a refill container.
Dust sanctuary furniture with a clean, dry cloth Do not use furniture polish on any of the sanctuary pieces
Sweep concrete floors in with a broom/dust mop*

Check furniture in Narthex for cobwebs

Clean windows on the exterior doors

Bathrooms - Men’s and Women’s
Clean and sanitize doorknobs, sinks, toilets
Clean mirrors
Sweep and mop floors
Restock toilet paper in stalls, with one extra on the top of the tank
Refill paper towels in wall units These require the key in the women’s bathroom drawer. Do not insert the key all the way. Place the c-fold towels with the flaps facing down.

Cleaning Zone 4: Chapel, Pastor’s Office & Bathrooms
Cleaning supplies are in the restroom next to the Chapel in the wicker cabinet. The mop and broom should also be there. The vacuum is kept in Eric’s office in the closet behind the restroom. Check vacuum bag and replace if filled.Lysol wipes are in the buffet drawers.
More cleaning supplies are available in the supply room behind Tiffani’s office, or in the narthex between the men’s and women’s restrooms.
Chapel
Vacuum rug and dust mop/sweep in the chapel
Clean windows if necessary
Clean piano and bench with a soft, dry cloth
Wipe down buffet and cabinet
Look for cobwebs around the bench and clear it off
Wipe down baseboards
Empty trash cans and recycling*; replace liners 13-gallon bags
Sweep the entry in front of the chapel
Pastor’s Office
Vacuum in Pastor’s office and on stairs if necessary

Cleaning Zone 5: Downstairs Children’s Building A: Classrooms & Church Office
Cleaning supplies are located in the closet under the stairs and in the classrooms themselves. Extra supplies are located in the closet behind Tiffani’s office. Check the vacuum bag and replace if filled.
Preschool Classrooms
Straighten up from weekly use (pick up books & toys)
Vacuum carpet in both rooms
Empty trash cans and recycling*; replace liners 8-gallon bags
Wipe down tables and door knobs
Clean windows if needed
Tidy tiled entry at the foot of the stairs (mop if needed)
Sweep the back porch (looks over the playground) and the door mats
Preschool Bathroom
Clean/sanitize doorknobs, toilet and sink;
Sweep/mop floor
Restock toilet paper & paper towels
Empty trash*; replace liners 8-gallon bags

Closest cleaning closet: In the toddler room, next to the bathroom and in the bathroom. For additional cleaning supplies, check the closet behind Tiffani’s office. Check vacuum bag and replace if filled.
