SUNDAY SPIRITUAL FORMATION CLASSES
The Cross and The Lynching Tree
Beginning this Sunday, November 14, and going through December 19, our Sunday, 9:45 am adult spiritual formation class will read and discuss James Cone's seminal work on Black theology, The Cross and the Lynching Tree. This is part of DaySpring's ongoing engagement with race, American history and culture, and our identity as the church. You will need your own copy of Cone's book, which can be purchased online in several different formats.
Please note, we will not be able to livestream these sessions.
Join Pastor Eric for a gathering for Evening Prayer at 6pm on Wednesdays. We follow a breif liturgy and allow time for intercessory prayer and silence.
Immediately following prayers, adults gather for a short discussion on the week's lectionary passage or a time centered on the liturgical season in the church calendar.
The Men's Bible Study will resume on September 21 at 9am. We will meet in Ken Cunningham's backyard (723 North 16th). Contact Eric Howell with any questions.
The Women's Bible Study meet for the first time in a long time, at the church, Tuesday, October 5th, at 1030am, centered on Paul's letters focusing on prayer. Hoping the Delta variant will be better under control by then, the study will meet in the chapel, masked. If not, the group will meet outside as the weather should be cooler.
Weekly discussion of the lectionary passage at 8 am on Friday mornings from 8:00 to 9:00 am.
All are welcome.
We will meet at Our Breakfast Place (formerly The Egg & I) in their meeting room along the side of the building. You may also join via Zoom at the link below.
