Sometimes we need a moment to pause and honor the memory of loved ones who have passed away. This is especially true in this season of merry-making thick with tinseled memories. We need a place for sorrow to be held gently but powerfully. A true observance of Advent holds space for the sorrow amidst the joy and the deaths that accompany new life. Our Service of Consolation, an important part of the Advent season, holds this space in a special and gentle way. We bring our sorrows and burdens to the God of compassion and hold others in our prayers. We remember we are not alone. Come . . .remember, honor, pray.
