Going Deeper

Small Groups

Small groups facilitate deepening growth with God and with others. They can meet weekly or every other weeks, often in homes to share life, study and grow together.

Some small groups practice group spiritual direction as they seek to grow in their awareness of God's presence in their life and deepen their prayer life. Each group is led by a trained spiritual director.

Small Groups at DaySpring can take on different shapes, based on who is in the group. Most groups meet every other week in homes, often on Sunday afternoon/evening.

Some groups:

  • Study a book together
This Fall: Created for Community and Opening To God

  • Reflect on the lectionary passages each week,

  • Pray through Common Prayer: A Liturgy for Ordinary Radicals.

  • Study a book of the Bible

Contact Tiffani Harris for more information about our small group ministry.

The Gift of the Contemplative Life

  • Interested in exploring contemplative spirituality?

  • Why is the contemplative life central to DaySpring's spirituality?

  • Ready for a fresh encounter with God in prayer?

DaySpring's Contemplative Life 101 is a short-term small group of 6-10 people who meet for 6 sessions and a mini-retreat during the semester to explore more fully key components of contemplative spirituality.

In each session, we discuss assigned readings, share from our experiences, and experience together, practices such as lectio divina, praying the Examen, contemplative prayer, and walking DaySpring's labyrinth together.

Participants have the option to continue the following semester in a spiritual companioning group as a way of helping further experience the gift of the contemplative life in their own lives.
