SUMMER IN TEXAS

The sun shines down and the leaves turn brown. It is a hot Texas day.

The grass lies dead and my feet are like lead. It is a hot Texas day.

The dust blows about so I know without doubt It is a hot Texas day.

The birds in the trees begin to sneeze It is a hot Texas day.

My steering wheel’s hot I can’t touch it a lot It is a hot Texas day.

Far off it is hazy and I begin to get lazy It is a hot Texas day.

If I was much bolder I’d go where it’s colder And leave this hot Texas day.

But in Texas you see we sit and sip tea and enjoy our hot Texas day.

I know it sounds insane but if to Texas you came You would sit in the cool or stay in the pool.

So don’t be a wimp and turn all limp Just because it’s a hot Texas day.
